Proposed Coalition Of Political Parties, Dead On Arrival – Aliyu

Former House of Representatives Minority Leader, Hon Farouk Adamu Aliyu has dismissed the proposed merger of political parties with the main aim of unseating President Bola Tinubu in 2027 as “dead on arrival project.”
Speaking on Monday in an interview on Africa Independent Television(AIT), Farouk dismissed the insinuations that the North has rejected Tinubu or that former President Buhari never supported the present president in 2023.
His words; “My first reaction when I heard there could be a merger of political parties with the sole aim of unseating the President was laughter. I’m still laughing actually. It is a huge joke. While I agree that it is their right to dream big, I think they themselves know they are jokers. How can you unseat a President that is working and getting results?
“The merger which unseated the PDP was meticulously planned for years and deftly executed.
“Before that coalition, the then Action Congress (AC)and Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) especially , were active opposition parties. The opposition was vibrant and put the government of Jonathan constantly on its toes. When the merger came, the All Progressive Congress (APC) came to life. We provide alternative to Nigerians . We provided sane and better policies to Nigerians. Whatever the government of the day did wrong got corrected by us. We outlined our alternatives and Nigerians trusted us. The new party began to fester.
“Today, the opposition parties are sleeping. They have no knowhow . They think it is easy to form a coalition to unseat a performing government?
Look, you think we will sit and watch them succeed? Apc won’t do that! We will not even allow them gather. We will continue to “pour sand in their garri” . They will not succeed”
On wether former former President Buhari was for against Tinubu, Farouk said; “I wonder why some of you keep saying former President Buhari never supported Tinubu. It is not true. He got the needed support from day one. The idea of Senator Ahmed Lawan was that of the then Party Chairman Abdullahi Adamu and a few others. President Buhari was and still remains a stunch supporter of President Tinubu”
When asked how he felt when Nasir El-rufai, Atiku Abubakar and others visited Buhari in Kaduna, he laughed and said they were restless souls who were already indirectly campaigning for President Tinubu.
“They know President Buhari and Tinubu are prominent members of the APC. They know it was Buhari who handed over to Tinubu. Is it not laughable to think that Buhari will suddenly support those who are interested in taking Tinubu out of Aso Rock? Who does that? They are wasting their time. They’re not wise enough to know that they’re already , actually campaigning for the president.
“When you say the North is fed up with the president, I dare to ask you, which North? The North I know is solidly behind the president. Very few people have left and now working against him. I’m a grassroot man. A Fulani herder. I want to tell you that the President will get more votes from the North in 2027”
Farouk advised the opposition to unite and provide alternative views and policies to Nigerians instead of wasting their time planning what cannot be. According to him, the return of Tinubu as second term president is as sure as tomorrow

Senator Yar’Adua dumps APC …says party derails from original ideals, selfish, corrupt

By Our Correspondent
Senator Abubakar Sadiq Yar’adua has formally resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ), citing the party’s departure from its founding ideals and describing the current administration as “selfish and stinkingly corrupt.”
In a strongly worded resignation letter addressed to his colleagues and the Nigerian public, Yar’adua, a founding member of both the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the APC, accused the ruling party of betraying the masses and abandoning its original mission of service to the people.
“I can not remain in a party or support a government that unashamedly watches its citizens being maimed, intimidated, sexually-harassed, assaulted, killed and displaced… while the government, its leadership and organs… remain aloof and unconcerned,” Yar’adua stated.
He further criticized the economic policies of the APC-led government, labeling them “destructive” and targeted at the “welfare, dignity, lands and livelihood” of Nigerians . He likened those in power to “urban bandits” and declared his intention to work with other like-minded individuals to democratically oust the current administration.
His exit marks a significant development in Katsina State politics and could trigger more defections, especially among disillusioned party loyalists.
Yar’adua concluded his statement with a call to action: “I, therefore, have no option other than to join hands with like-minds to democratically remove this bad, selfish and stinkingly corrupt administration.”
