A non governmental organization, the Cabul Network Community Development Initiative has distributed school uniforms, exercise books, and writing materials to the pupils of Waru LEA School in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT with a view to helping their parents crushing the rising economic hardship
and reduce educational inequality in the area.

Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the group, Mr. Okechukwu Okorie, urged philanthropists and corporate bodies to intensify support for less privileged children across the country.

Okorie, who stressed the need for the organisation’s outreach to Waru LEA School to be replicated nationwide, said the intervention highlights how much impact even modest acts of generosity can make in underserved communities, and urged well-meaning Nigerians to become more actively involved.

He noted that with many families struggling to afford basic learning materials, private philanthropy has become an essential lifeline for keeping children in school and giving them a fair chance at the future.

The Head Teacher, Mr. Dikko Sol, and Assistant Head Teacher, Mr. Adasa Reuben, both praised the gesture, describing it as a reminder that meaningful progress in education often starts with individuals and organisations willing to look beyond themselves.

They encouraged more Nigerians, especially professionals, business owners, and community leaders, to emulate such acts of service to help bridge the resource gap faced by public schools.

One of the beneficiaries and a pupil of the school, Loyalty Taye, expressed joy and gratitude for the gesture, saying the donated items would make his school experience easier.

The distribution took place on the school grounds in Waru, a community about 10 kilometres from the Abuja, city centre.
