Contrary to insinuations in some quarters that the North plans to vote against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 presidential election, on Monday surprised even the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, the Northern Nigeria Youth Leaders Forum (NNYLF) donated N200 million to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s nomination forms for the 2027 presidential election.<\/p>\n
The National Leader of NNYLF, Alhaji Murtala Muhammad Garba (GAMJI), who announced this in an interview, after the presentation of the cheque to the APC at a gathering on Monday stated that the move was a show of support for Tinubu’s leadership and vision for Nigeria.
\nGarba mphasized that the support is not limited to the youth, but also has the backing of grand patrons, including Nuhu Ribadu, and tribal leaders from across the 19 northern states.<\/p>\n
The NNYLF leader stressed that the decision to support Tinubu was based on his performance in office, citing improvements in security, agriculture, and infrastructure across the country.
\nGarba noted that the group believes in the unity of Nigeria and the agreement between late President Buhari and Tinubu, which stipulates that the south should complete its eight years in office before the north takes over.<\/p>\n
He expressed confidence that Tinubu will win the highest votes in northern Nigeria, citing his achievements and the support of traditional leaders, including the grandson of Tafawa Balewa, the first Prime Minister of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The NNYLF leader urged northern elders to eschew divisive politics and support Tinubu’s re-election bid, emphasizing that the youths are committed to his success.<\/p>\n
