{"id":10713,"date":"2026-01-31T16:57:17","date_gmt":"2026-01-31T16:57:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=10713"},"modified":"2026-01-31T16:57:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-31T16:57:17","slug":"nasslaf-denounces-apc-legislative-aides-support-group-dissociates-from-its-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2026\/01\/31\/nasslaf-denounces-apc-legislative-aides-support-group-dissociates-from-its-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"NASSLAF Denounces APC Legislative Aides Support Group, Dissociates from Its Activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jonas Ezieke, Abuja<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eThe National Assembly Legislative Aides\u2019 Forum NASSLAF has formally denounced and dissociated itself from a group identifying as the APC National Assembly Legislative Aides Support Group ANALAG describing its formation and operations as misleading, unauthorized, and potentially destabilizing.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eA statement, issued in Abuja on Thursday, January 29, 2026 and jointly signed by High Chief Barr.Emeka Nwala, Chairman of NASSLAF, and Umar Grema Abdallah, Secretary of the Forum, clarified that while legislative aides are free to associate for legitimate purposes, no individual or group is permitted to adopt or operate under a name that suggests official representation of National Assembly legislative aides without the approval of the recognized body overseeing their affairs.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eAccording to NASSLAF, the deliberate use of the title \u201cNational Assembly Legislative Aides\u201d by a small group pursuing vested interests without consultation or clearance from the Forum\u2019s Executive Committee and general membership is misleading and unlawful.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eThe Forum emphasized that legislative aides within the National Assembly are drawn from diverse political backgrounds and traditionally operate beyond partisan affiliations, a structure it said has been instrumental to unity and the advancement of members\u2019 welfare.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eNASSLAF warned that the creation of politically aligned groups within the ranks of legislative aides could fragment the Forum, undermine cohesion, and threaten peace within the National Assembly environment.
