{"id":11125,"date":"2026-02-16T22:13:05","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T22:13:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=11125"},"modified":"2026-02-17T03:36:21","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T03:36:21","slug":"breaking-suspected-cultist-behead-30-years-old-rival-in-bayelsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2026\/02\/16\/breaking-suspected-cultist-behead-30-years-old-rival-in-bayelsa\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspected Cultist behead 30 years old rival in Bayels\u00e0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By David Owei, Bayelsa <\/p>\n<p>There is rising tension in Igbogene community of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayels\u00e0 State over the beheading of a 30 years old man by suspected cult group.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased identified as Ebi (surname unknown) but popularly known as Npotor (Noise) is an Indigene of Amassoma community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the State.<\/p>\n<p>He is alleged to be a member of the rival cult group known as Greenlanders.<\/p>\n<p>Community sources told newsmen that the two rival cult groups, the Bobos and Greenlanders, were engaged in simmering beef in the area.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; The boy was said to have gone to Yenegue, an area controlled by the Bobos. He was taken and tied to and abandoned road and beheaded.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Security sources confirmed to our correspondent that the corpse of the deceased was found naked, hands tied and the head missing.<\/p>\n<p>Already, the Igbogene Divisional Police Officer have been deployed to the area to evacuated the corpse.<\/p>\n<p>Contacted on the development, the spokesman of the State Police Command, Musa Mohammed, said he is yet to get the details of such incident at his disposal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By David Owei, Bayelsa There is rising tension in Igbogene community of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayels\u00e0 State over the beheading of a 30 years old man by suspected cult group.
