<\/p>\nA 21-year-old apprentice at the drug market (Ogbo Ogwu) in Onitsha, Anambra State whose name was given as Chiemerie Anieke has allegedly hacked his master, Mr. Ikechukwu Nwite to death for reportedly cautioning him to refrain from drug use pilfering and keeping late nights.

Daily Echoes Media gathered that the incident which also affected the deceased wife, Ogechukwu Nwite, both indigenes of Ebonyi State, happened at the Fegge area of the commercial city on Sunday morning, February 15, 2026<\/p>\n
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said that the suspect is in Police net, while the wife of the deceased who was also attacked is recuperating in the hospital.<\/p>\n
According to Ikenga Anieke used a pestle to hit his master, Mr. Ikechukwu Nwite, on the head, resulting in his death, and also attacked his wife who luckily escaped with injuries.<\/p>\n
While noting that the pestle used in the attack has been recovered from the scene, the Police spokesperson added, “Preliminary information reveals that the suspect was allegedly provoked by the manner in which his late master admonished him over his bad behaviour, including pilfering money meant for the shop, staying out late at night, and taking drugs.<\/p>\n
“Meanwhile, Ikechukwu\u2019s wife was rescued and taken to the hospital, where she is currently responding to treatment. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Awka, for comprehensive investigation and to ensure justice is served.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
