{"id":1134,"date":"2025-01-09T13:45:26","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T13:45:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=1134"},"modified":"2025-01-09T13:45:46","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T13:45:46","slug":"you-can-not-silence-nigerians-lp-coalition-warns-apc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2025\/01\/09\/you-can-not-silence-nigerians-lp-coalition-warns-apc\/","title":{"rendered":"You Can not Silence Nigerians -LP coalition warns APC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<p>Again,\u00a0 a coalition of interest groups has\u00a0 \u00a0reacted to the alleged threats to the life of the Labour party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 election , Mr Peter Obi, by All Progressives Congress, (APC),<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 coalition which is on the platform of the Alliance for all Labour Party Stakeholders and Professionals has warned APC leaders against building an authoritarian system that stifles free speech.<\/p>\n<p>The coalition in a statement issued by its convener, Dr Blessing Elaigwu, made it clear in an interview on Thursday that Nigerians would not be silenced and condemned the recent verbal attacks on Obi, particularly by APC National Spokesperson, Mr Felix Morka in a Television interview recently.<\/p>\n<p>The coalition noted that Morka\u2019s refusal to apologize for his remarks, despite multiple opportunities provided by the program anchor, reflects the ruling party\u2019s fear of Obi\u2019s growing influence.<\/p>\n<p>The Labour Party coalition called on the APC to focus on governance instead of intimidation by addressing the pressing issues affecting Nigerians instead of attempting to undermine the opposition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is disheartening to witness such blatant attempts to silence dissenting voices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Morka\u2019s fresh threat to compile and forward a list of 400 Nigerians to security agencies is a brazen effort to intimidate citizens into submission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a glaring sign of a government frightened by the inevitable reckoning at the ballot box in 2027,\u201d part of the statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>The group used the forum to further criticize the APC for what it described as a \u201cpolicy of institutionalized impoverishment,\u201d accusing the party of creating record-breaking poverty and inequality under the current administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNigerians are tired of APC\u2019s lies and propaganda.
