{"id":12178,"date":"2026-03-27T01:14:06","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T01:14:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=12178"},"modified":"2026-03-27T01:14:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T01:14:06","slug":"fct-to-host-8453-apc-delegates-at-national-convention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2026\/03\/27\/fct-to-host-8453-apc-delegates-at-national-convention\/","title":{"rendered":"FCT to Host 8,453 APC delegates at National Convention"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By George Mgbeleke <\/p>\n<p>The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is set to host a total number of 8,453 All Progressives Congress (APC)delegates drawn from across the six geopolitical zones of the country,<\/p>\n<p> The delegates are expected to participate in the two-day National Convention of APC which will start on Friday in Abuja. <\/p>\n<p> Information and National Orientation Minister, Mohammed Idris, who made this declaration at  APC World Media briefing held in Abuja on Thursday stated that the convention will reflect the party\u2019s inclusiveness, unity, and democratic maturity, while reinforcing its commitment to advancing national development under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe are expecting a total of 8,453 delegates from across the country. This clearly demonstrates the national spread, inclusiveness, and organisational strength of our great party,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fielding  questions from journalists, the Minister assured that comprehensive arrangements have been .made to accommodate all accredited delegates without exception. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to assure that nobody will be left out. The party is very responsible and our budget has a self-adjusting mechanism to accommodate all delegates,\u201d he stated. <\/p>\n<p>Idris also disclosed that movement of delegates and committee members from various parts of the country have so far been seamless and incident-free. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we speak, we have not recorded any incidents, and we do not expect any. This reflects the improving security situation and ongoing infrastructural development across the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister further disclosed that a fully equipped media centre will be operational at the convention venue to guarantee free flow of information, with all accredited media organisations granted access for coverage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be a media centre to ensure that Nigerians are adequately informed. We are inviting all media organisations, and accreditation will be provided for effective coverage,\u201d he assured. <\/p>\n<p>Idris urged journalists to uphold professionalism in their reportage, noting that \u201cit is important that reports should be presented responsibly, honestly, and in the national interest, bearing in mind that Nigeria remains at the heart of everything we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those in attendance were the Minister of arts, Culture, tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; Minster of Aviation and aerospace development, Festus Kyamo; Pius Anyim Vice Chairman of the Central Committee; Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Chief Sunday Dare; Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga; among other top party dignitaries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By George Mgbeleke The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is set to host a total number of 8,453 All Progressives Congress (APC)delegates drawn from across the six geopolitical zones of the country, The delegates are expected to participate in the two-day National Convention of APC which will start on Friday in Abuja.
