{"id":12180,"date":"2026-03-27T01:28:47","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T01:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=12180"},"modified":"2026-03-27T01:28:47","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T01:28:47","slug":"soludo-threatens-to-sack-non-performing-civil-servants-as-he-pays-unscheduled-visit-to-state-secretariat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2026\/03\/27\/soludo-threatens-to-sack-non-performing-civil-servants-as-he-pays-unscheduled-visit-to-state-secretariat\/","title":{"rendered":"Soludo threatens to sack  Non-Performing Civil Servants, as he pays unscheduled visit to state secretariat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Our Correspondent <\/p>\n<p>In a bid to rid the workforce of dead woods,Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma  Soludo has threatened to sack  non performing civil servants in the, even as he expressed his desire for significant reforms within the State civil service.<\/p>\n<p>He stated this during an unscheduled visit to the State Secretariat on Thursday, to assess employee conduct, punctuality, and overall dedication to duty.<\/p>\n<p>The visit, which covered different ministries and departments, was aimed at evaluating the current work culture and the level of commitment among public servants.<\/p>\n<p>The governor who engaged directly with the workforce during the visit, observed work operations and also interacted with officials across different cadres.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing journalists after the inspection, Soludo described his observation as a combination of \u201cthe good, the bad, and the ugly,\u201d adding that while some civil servants demonstrated commendable professionalism, others fell short of expected standards.<\/p>\n<p>While commending some diligent workers who maintain punctuality and uphold the ethics of public service, he cited them as those critical to the effective functioning of government.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor however expressed worry over cases of lateness, absenteeism, and lack of commitment among some employees.<\/p>\n<p>He however warned that his administration would not tolerate inefficiency, saying that workers unwilling to align with the state\u2019s reform agenda would face consequences.<\/p>\n<p>Soludo said, \u201cNon-Performing Civil Servants will be exited.
