Yobe fundraiser generates N188m for Senator Lawan\u2019s Governorship forms<\/p>\n

Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, the 14th President of the Senate representing Yobe North Senatorial District, has expressed gratitude following a grassroots fundraising initiative that has so far generated approximately \u20a6188 million in pledges and donations toward the purchase of his APC governorship nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2027 Yobe State election.<\/p>\n
In statement by his Media Adviser, Ezrel TABIOWO,the fundraiser was held on Sunday in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State.<\/p>\n
In an appreciation message released on Monday, Senator Lawan commended the Coalition of Yobe East Progressive Youths, led by Dr. Mohammed Goni Yerima, for what he described as \u201ca demonstration of responsible citizenship\u201d and a redefinition of grassroots political participation.<\/p>\n
According to preliminary reports, funds were realized through pledges, cash donations, and bank transfers into a dedicated Sterling Bank account (0126966296). <\/p>\n
Senator Lawan noted that the most touching aspect of the drive was the significant number of contributions ranging between \u20a6100 and \u20a63,000, made by widows, mechanic apprentices, traders, and students.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat, to me, is the true definition of grassroots participation and community ownership. You have not only raised funds for forms; you have redefined what it means to be progressive citizens of Yobe State,\u201d Senator Lawa said.<\/p>\n
The former Senate President emphasized that the gesture represents an investment in a shared vision for an open, accountable, and transparent government owned by the people of Yobe State.<\/p>\n
