{"id":1258,"date":"2025-01-15T21:01:20","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T21:01:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=1258"},"modified":"2025-01-15T21:01:20","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T21:01:20","slug":"budget-defence-nass-clears-jamb-of-financial-impropriety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2025\/01\/15\/budget-defence-nass-clears-jamb-of-financial-impropriety\/","title":{"rendered":"Budget Defence : NASS clears JAMB of\u00a0 \u00a0Financial Impropriety\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m#msg-a:r-1359616983326943973\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The National Assembly through its joint committee on Finance , has cleared the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB) of financial impropriety it earlier alleged it of .<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Committee had on Monday during budget defence session the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede had with it , alleged that the examination body spent N1.1billion on meal , N850million for fumigation etc , which according to it , were outrageous .<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The JAMB Registrar made spirited effort to explain how the alleged expenditures were made but prevented from doing so,and asked to furnish the committee with details of its budgetary appropriation and spendings in 2024 and 2025.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">But 48 hours after , the Chairman of the joint committee Senator Sani Musa had in a statement he personally signed\u00a0 said Oloyede and JAMB\u00a0 , were wrongly accused of reckless spendings based on latest\u00a0 documents submitted to the committee by JAMB.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The statement titled : &#8221; Clarification on the JAMB Report on Revenue&#8221;, reads : &#8220;For the purpose of clarity, the comprehensive report provided by JAMB indicates that the line items mentioned during Monday\u2019s hearing on revenue do not suggest any mismanagement or misuse of the Board\u2019s funds.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;On the contrary, the report highlights the responsible and prudent use of resources under the leadership of the Registrar.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;The Registrar Professor Is-haq Oloyede, deserves commendation for demonstrating financial discipline and accountability in managing the Board\u2019s resources effectively.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;This level of stewardship serves as a model for public institutions across the nation&#8221;.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-footer spacer collapsible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Assembly through its joint committee on Finance , has cleared the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB) of financial impropriety it earlier alleged it of .
