All candidates were returned unopposed through a voice vote.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the electoral committee, Engineer Kingsley Okafor, said the election followed the formal dissolution of the party\u2019s caretaker committee, as well as a motion duly moved and seconded by registered members for the congress to hold.<\/p>\n<p>Party leaders and stakeholders who addressed the gathering reaffirmed their commitment to reshaping Nigeria\u2019s political landscape, citing insecurity, economic hardship, and corruption as key challenges requiring urgent attention.<\/p>\n<p>A former Delta State governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, Ken Pela, described the influx of prominent political figures into the NDC as more than a routine political development, but a realignment driven by shared values and purpose.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the reported defection of Peter Obi to the party had further strengthened its structure and signaled renewed hope for both Nigeria and Delta State.<\/p>\n<p>In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Delta State Chairman of the NDC, Chief Angiamaowei Richman Oyindoubra, described the congress as a success and a significant step toward national progress.<br \/>\n\u201cAt this point, we have built the Nigeria Democratic Congress in unity and without rancour.
