The Director General of the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Prof. Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman has announced his withdrawal from the Kwara State governorship race ahead of the All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries.<\/p>\n
In a statement to the people of Kwara State, and made available journalists on Tuesday, Sulaiman said the decision came after extensive consultations and recent developments. <\/p>\n
The governorship aspirant said his initial entry into the contest was driven by a desire to contribute to the state\u2019s progress, unity, and development, not personal ambition.<\/p>\n
\u201cI remain deeply humbled by the encouragement, prayers, goodwill, and overwhelming support shown to me by Kwarans across Kwara North, Kwara South, and Kwara Central,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Sulaiman said the decision was not made lightly, but he believes leadership must be guided by wisdom, responsibility, and commitment to the greater good.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile I may no longer be participating in this contest, my belief in the future of Kwara State remains unwavering. I also reaffirm my loyalty and commitment to our great party, the APC, and to the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He pledged to support the APC\u2019s success in the upcoming elections at all levels and to continue working for peace, unity, and progress in Kwara State and Nigeria.<\/p>\n
To his supporters, Sulaiman said: \u201cThank you for standing with me throughout this journey. Your goodwill will never be forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n
