As jostling for 2027 presidential election heats up, Taminu Turaki-led Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has cleared former president Goodluck Jonathan as its sole presidential candidate.<\/p>\n
NATIONAL POST reports that Jonathan\u2019s emergence was announced by the screening committee on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, who chaired the screening committee, announced this after the screening exercise. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the PDP, Umar Sani, has confirmed that Jonathan purchased the party\u2019s nomination form.<\/p>\n
Sani made the disclosure during an appearance on Trust TV on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to him, Jonathan\u2019s actions indicate serious interest in returning to partisan politics ahead of the next presidential election.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn politics, what is important is action. If you are interested, there are processes you have to follow, one of which is the procurement of nomination forms. He has done that,\u201d Sani said.<\/p>\n
