{"id":16132,"date":"2026-07-31T17:08:02","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T17:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=16132"},"modified":"2026-07-31T17:08:02","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T17:08:02","slug":"alkali-lauds-yilwatdas-steady-purposeful-leadership-of-apc-in-first-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2026\/07\/31\/alkali-lauds-yilwatdas-steady-purposeful-leadership-of-apc-in-first-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Alkali lauds Yilwatda\u2019s \u2018steady, purposeful\u2019 leadership of APC in first year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By AbdulGaneey Akanbi<\/p>\n<p>Former Political Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Prof. Rufa\u2019i Ahmed Alkali, has commended the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for providing inspiring and purposeful leadership in his first year in office.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday titled \u201cA Steady Hand at the Helm of the APC: Celebrating a Remarkable Leader,\u201d Alkali said the party has recorded steady progress under Yilwatda\u2019s watch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe celebrate not merely the passage of one year in office, but we are celebrating one year of purposeful, steady progress, and advancement of the APC under your able and inspiring leadership,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Noting that Yilwatda assumed leadership of the party on July 25, 2025, at a critical moment in the nation\u2019s political history, he said: \u201cWhen you assumed the mantle of leadership, you accepted a responsibility that demanded hardwork, courage, wisdom, patience and unwavering commitment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alkali added that despite high expectations and enormous challenges, the APC chairman justified the confidence reposed in him by President Bola Tinubu and party stakeholders through determination and administrative competence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last one year, you have demonstrated that true leadership is not measured by loud noise, but by calm judgement, fairness, integrity and the ability to inspire confidence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He praised Yilwatda\u2019s inclusive approach to party administration, saying it has strengthened unity among APC members and encouraged constructive engagement among stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>The former political adviser described the successful conduct of the APC primary elections as a defining moment of Yilwatda\u2019s first year, saying: \u201cUnder your watch, the party navigated that sensitive exercise with maturity and credibility, laying a solid foundation for the journey towards the 2027 general elections.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Alkali also commended Yilwatda for prioritizing dialogue and reconciliation with aggrieved members, noting that the efforts have made the party stronger and better prepared for future contests.<\/p>\n<p>He further lauded the chairman\u2019s humility and accessibility. \u201cYou listen before you speak, you build bridges instead of creating walls, and you consistently place the collective interest of the Party above personal considerations,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an accomplished academic and now leader of Nigeria\u2019s foremost political party, you continue to demonstrate that excellence, integrity and dedication can coexist in public leadership,\u201d Alkali stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By AbdulGaneey Akanbi Former Political Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Prof. Rufa\u2019i Ahmed Alkali, has commended the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for providing inspiring and purposeful leadership in his first year in office.
