The new Director General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, Ph.D has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for approving an upward review of salaries and allowances for personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n
He also applauded the President\u2019s recent approval for the expansion of the Nigerian Army from eight to 12 divisions and the recruitment of 28,000 additional personnel to strengthen the country\u2019s security architecture.<\/p>\n
Namdas, who was the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Army in the 9th Assembly, noted that the expansion of the Army divisions will take care of over 3,000 border communities in 105 local governments and 21 states across the country, adding that with this development, such communities without military presence would be covered.<\/p>\n
He described the decision as timely, morale-boosting, and a clear demonstration of the President\u2019s commitment to the welfare of men and women in uniform who continue to make sacrifices to secure the nation.<\/p>\n
According to the BCDA Director General, \u201cThis salary hike sends a strong message to our troops on the frontlines and in barracks across the country that their service is seen, valued, and appreciated. Increasing the take-home pay of our officers and men will not only enhance welfare but also strengthen operational efficiency, retention, and patriotism within the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n
\u201cI equally commend Mr President for approving the expansion of the Nigerian Army from eight to 12 divisions; and in addition the directive for the recruitment of 28,000 personnel. This is a bold and courageous investment that can reset the nation\u2019s Armed Forces\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n
He noted that a well-motivated military is central to winning the fight against insecurity and to achieving President Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda for a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.<\/p>\n
He expressed optimism in the commitment of the Ministry of Defence, the Military Service Chiefs, and relevant agencies in ensuring prompt implementation of the new welfare package.<\/p>\n
Namdas also called on Nigerians to continue supporting the Armed Forces with prayers and goodwill, while encouraging the troops to remain disciplined, professional, and apolitical in the discharge of their constitutional duties.<\/p>\n
\u201cI salute our gallant men and women in uniform. I believe Mr. President\u2019s gesture will go a long way in boosting morale and enhancing the war against insecurity in the country.
