{"id":17024,"date":"2026-08-23T17:22:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-23T17:22:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=17024"},"modified":"2026-08-23T17:22:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-23T17:22:39","slug":"17024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2026\/08\/23\/17024\/","title":{"rendered":"Niger CP to Partner NYC,MPYD to Curb Political Thuggery in 2027 Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Uthman Baba-Naseer,Minna<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner of Police in Niger State,CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, has  promised to partner with the Moderated Police-Youth Dialogue, (MPYD),and Niger State chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria,(NYCN),to curb political thuggery  activities and other social vices ahead of the 20027 elections.<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner of Police,also pledged his Command readiness to engage the youths in partnering with relevant youth associations in the state ensuring crime free election in 2027 assuring that his Command will not compromise in relating with the youths towards the maintenance of peace and security in the state.<\/p>\n<p>CP Adamu Elleman gave the assurance while  receiving the Moderated Police-Youth Dialogue (MPYD) and delegation of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) during a courtesy visit to his office Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that youths,as potential future leaders of the country,emphasized the need for them to engage themselves in meaningful activities that will improve their talents and potential, warning them to shun any form of political thuggeries and any other vices that will be detrimental to their future.<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner of Police lauded the youths for their maturity,responsible disposition,and their continued support to the Command in achieving its mandate.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that he will look into some issues raised and prefer ways of forwarding it to the appropriate quarters for prompt action, describing it as consistent with the objectives of the international youth day initiative, particularly in promoting trust,responsible citizenship,crime prevention and stronger Police youth relations.<\/p>\n<p>CP Adamu  Elleman called on the group to avoid digital related thuggery and cyber-crimes which including misinformation,disinformation,hate speech,fake news ,cyberbullying and defamation of character for political motives.<\/p>\n<p>He assured the youths of his preparedness to wade into mediation between them and the State Government towards achieving their legitimate objective.<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner of Police,while acknowledging the consistence respect for his office,and adherence to lawful directive, he pledged his Command willingness to support the youths organisation at all times.<\/p>\n<p>The engagement, held under the theme \u201cDifferent Contexts, Common Aspirations,\u201d also featured the launch of the Special National Campaign Against Political and Digital Thuggery, themed \u201cMy Future is Greater than Political Thuggery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation Amb. Ishaq Abdullahi is to  appeal for the CP\u2019s involvement in the forthcoming NYCN elections and in acting as a mediator between the youth body and the state Government to facilitate constructive engagement and ensure that youth concerns are heard.<\/p>\n<p> The  dialogue, according Amb. Ishaq provided an opportunity for the youths to engage directly with the Police leadership in the State on issues concerning security, youth inclusion, crime prevention, electoral peace and Police-youth partnership.<\/p>\n<p>They also proposed the appointment of credible Early Warning Election Ambassadors, engagement of responsible youth leaders to support electoral security efforts as Ad-hoc staff and sustained practical engagement with youths across the three Senatorial Districts in the State ahead of the forthcoming general elections for proactiveness, intelligence gathering, prompt response to potential crisis and accountability.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the issues raised during the engagement were consistent with the objectives of the International Youth Day initiative, particularly in promoting trust, responsible citizenship, crime prevention and stronger Police-youth relations<\/p>\n<p>Particular emphasis was placed on avoiding digital thuggery and cyber-related offences, including misinformation, disinformation, hate speech, fake news, cyberbullying, cyberstalking and defamation of character for political purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the interaction featured the decoration of the State Chairman NYCN, Amb. Ishaq Abdullahi by the Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu A.
