The Allied Peoples\u2019 Movement (APM) has dismissed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s Campaign Council list as an assembly of disconnected \u201cyes men\u201d and discredited politicians who do not command the requisite public affinity, loyalty and confidence to drive a winning Presidential campaign.<\/p>\n
In a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary,Abubakar Yusuf, the party asserted that the list is populated mostly with known political sycophants, inconsistent characters and ideology turncoats including failed state governors who were recently booed in Osun State and ethically challenged politicians who are seeking official cover for corruption charges and other atrocities they committed against Nigerians.<\/p>\n
“The campaign list as published by the Tinubu Presidency has finally confirmed our earlier stand that President Tinubu is not in the shape to command the support of patriotic citizens because of his horrible performance in office.<\/p>\n
“The choice of Campaign Director General in former Zamfara State Governor Abdul-Aziz Yari under whose failed watch banditry and mass killings escalated in the state, whose government refused to implement the national minimum wage for workers and under whose administration youth unemployment, out-of-school children and general living standard came to their worst figures, speak volumes of President Tinubu\u2019s view of governance.<\/p>\n
“If after three and half years in power, President Tinubu could not garner the capacity to assemble a credible team, then it is clear that indeed he has no business being in charge of a nation as complex and demanding as Nigeria.<\/p>\n
“In any event, our party did expect President Tinubu to enjoy the support of well-meaning Nigerians given his calamitous failures in governance.<\/p>\n
“This is because any Nigerian supporting President Tinubu\u2019s re-election is directly endorsing the re-election of a hopeless and rudderless administration under whose failed watch no fewer than 628,000 Nigerians have been killed with over 2.2 million others including children abducted in just three and half years following the Tinubu administration\u2019s lack of commitment to the security, safety and wellbeing of our citizens,” he noted.<\/p>\n
The statement questioned,”How can any well-meaning Nigerian campaign for an administration that has ruined our economy with ill-advised and ill-implemented anti-people policies resulting in the crippling of our national productive sectors, pushing over 140 million Nigerians below poverty line with over 33% unemployment rate and a comatose national infrastructure?”<\/p>\n
The APM therefore counsels the Tinubu Campaign Council to note that their mission is dead on arrival. The Osun Governorship election experience should serve as a pointer to them that President Tinubu cannot win the 2027 Presidential election. <\/p>\n
“Of course, not when he is in a contest with a more popular candidate in the mould of the APM Presidential Candidate, Seyi Makinde, who is now commanding the support and solidarity of majority of Nigerians as the credible alternative to President Tinubu.<\/p>\n
“Our candidate is armed with a blueprint for a new and transparent approach to governance that puts Nigerians first, prioritizing inclusive human development and wellbeing through people-oriented policies and prudent management of resources.<\/p>\n
“This blueprint guarantees security of lives and property, industrialization, massive youth employment, national infrastructural revolution, efficient public service and sustainable prosperity for all,” he said<\/p>\n
The APM therefore urged Nigerians not to despair over President Tinubu\u2019s campaign list but focus on the new beginning which they desire and hope for under a Makinde\/Daura Presidency.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
