As Anambrarians sleep with one- eye open\u00a0 due to rampant killings, kidnappings and other forms of criminalities in parts of the state,\u00a0 newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. Livingstine Urutugu, who assumed office on Monday has confirmed that the killers of the three siblings in Nnewi are still residing in the neighborhood.<\/div>\n

The new commissioner of Police took time out to visit the crime scene less than two hours after resuming office at the Command headquaters in Amawbia, pledging to apprehend the suspects in due course.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0Mr Urutugu assured that under his leadership, crime and criminality would be reduced to their barest minimum.<\/div>\n

While warning that the Command would not compromise the state\u2019s security architecture, Urutugu added,<\/div>\n

\u201cWe are here today to assess the unfortunate incident of the murder of three siblings, whose bodies were found in a fridge here in Nnewi.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cI am also here to console the family and relatives of the victims and to reiterate the commitment of the Anambra State Police Command to addressing this deplorable crime. Unlike other similar incidents in the state, such as kidnappings or sudden disappearances, we will uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragedy and ensure that the suspects are arrested and justice is served<\/div>\n

\u201cUndoubtedly, the Command has been proactive in confronting these challenges and has recorded several successes in curbing such crimes.<\/div>\n

\u201cI have been briefed on how the people of Anambra and the state government, through the launch of Operation Udo Ga Chi, have united in condemning any act that threatens our national peace. They are determined to work together to address the issues that divide us, regardless of our differences.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cTo support this initiative, the Command, under my leadership, will take every professional step in crime prevention and enhance crime-fighting strategies. This will include the strategic deployment of our intelligence assets, robust collaboration with sister security agencies, organized vigilante groups, and other stakeholders.”<\/div>\n

He urged the\u00a0 people of Anambra State to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies in combating all forms of criminality, as well as ensuring public safety and security in the state.<\/div>\n

He stated, \u201cFor those who have been misled into criminal activities, you are warned to reconsider your actions, as the Command is determined to confront all acts of criminality, irrespective of the perpetrator\u2019s status.
