{"id":2073,"date":"2025-02-17T09:41:04","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T09:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=2073"},"modified":"2025-02-17T09:41:04","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T09:41:04","slug":"agunaechemba-arrests-another-quick-money-spiritualist-in-anambra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2025\/02\/17\/agunaechemba-arrests-another-quick-money-spiritualist-in-anambra\/","title":{"rendered":"Agunaechemba arrests another quick money spiritualist in Anambra"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">By Our Reporter<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In an effort to rid the state of ritual killings and kidnapping, another Anambra based spiritualist who also promotes get rich quick syndrome on social media, Onyeze Jesus was over at the weekend arrested.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">His arrest marks the third high-profile crackdown on \u201cquick riches\u201d spiritualists in Anambra, following the arrests of Akwa \u00d3k\u00f9k\u00f3 Tiwara Aki and Eke Hit recently.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The arrest is coming on the heels of Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo&#8217;s resolve to cleanse the state of fake native doctors promoting quick riches through &#8220;Oke Ite&#8217; ritual,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Onyeze Jesus gained notoriety for his controversial \u201cquick riches\u201d rituals, which involved taking followers including ladies to a river in Nkpor, where they would strip, hold rams, pray, while throwing money into the water.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This process which he often post on his Facebook\u00a0 page usually show his followers nude in the river, bathing, saying, &#8220;I must be rich this year, anything holding me from my money must be broken, my money must locate me, among others.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">As the bathing is going on, the spiritualist would be heard in the background encouraging them, saying, &#8220;bath it out, &#8220;Ana Agwo Ona ele&#8221;,meaning, We conjure and it happens.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Meanwhile, Onyeze had last year vanished from public glare but resurfaced with claims that he was kidnapped, accusing his mother-in-law of orchestrating the abduction.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He subsequently separated from his wife.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Onyeze on his return this time did not go back to his\u00a0 river rituals, instead he built a \u201cPool of Bethesda\u201d at his residence and continued his practices under a new guise.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Security agencies have identified the activities of native doctors, who perform rituals for young men seeking quick wealth, as a significant contributor to the escalating cases of kidnapping and ritual killings<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Our Reporter In an effort to rid the state of ritual killings and kidnapping, another Anambra based spiritualist who also promotes get rich quick syndrome on social media, Onyeze Jesus was over at the weekend arrested.
