In a historic achievement for legal education in Niger State, the Fati Lami Abubakar Institute for Legal and Administrative Studies, Minna, has secured accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for its National Diploma (ND) in Islamic and Common Law, as well as the National Diploma (ND) in Law.<\/p>\n
The approval, granted on February 12, 2025, marks a significant milestone for the Institute, which has operated without formal accreditation for its law programs for over two decades.<\/p>\n
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Minna Branch has hailed the achievement as a breakthrough for legal education in the region.<\/p>\n
In a congratulatory letter to the Provost, Dr. Amina Usman Kutigi, the NBA Minna Branch Chairman, Isyaku Barau, commended the Provost\u2019s exceptional leadership, resilience, and vision in securing the accreditation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis remarkable achievement is a historic milestone for the Institute and a significant breakthrough in the legal education landscape of Niger State and beyond,\u201d Barau stated. He emphasized that the lack of accreditation had previously hindered graduates from securing Direct Entry admissions into universities, but the new accreditation will open doors to greater academic and professional opportunities for current and future students.<\/p>\n
Dr. Kutigi\u2019s unwavering commitment to excellence, despite limited resources, has been widely praised. Her dedication to advancing legal education and her tireless efforts in securing the accreditation have been described as a legacy that will benefit generations to come.<\/p>\n
The NBA Minna Branch expressed pride in the accomplishment and reiterated its commitment to collaborating with the Institute to foster legal education and professional development in Niger State.<\/p>\n
