AEDC bows to pressure moves to provide new transformer,armored cable to Kutitriko Community<\/p>\n

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company,(AEDC), has agreed to provide the Kutitriko Community in Chanchaga local government area with new transformer,armored cable and pre-pay metered to the community.<\/p>\n
This was disclosed by the legal officer of AEDC in Minna Ubandoma Ibeto Aminu Esq. stated that already, the items are on transit from Abuja to Minna.<\/p>\n
Recalled that the Kutitriko Community had dragged the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company to Minna Chief Magistrate court Number one demanding the reinstallation of their light<\/p>\n
Kutiriko Community has been in total darkness for six months without power supply to the community as a result of vandalization of their transformer.<\/p>\n
The governor of Niger State,Umar Mohammed Bago donated a giant size transformer to alleviate their darkness.<\/p>\n
Even without power supply to the community, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company keeps on billing them astronomically.<\/p>\n
Worried by the outrageous billing from the AEDC, without power supply to the community, members of the community approached the Minna Chief Magistrate court Number one asking the court to compel the AEDC stop billing them for a service not rendered.<\/p>\n
At the last sitting of the court,the AEDC counsel Barrister Danjuma Mohammed, requested the Magistrate Hajiya Ummulkhatum Mohammed to allow them a date to see how to resolve the matter out of court.<\/p>\n
” My Lord. We have already started to resolve the Matter out of court. We are having a discussion on how to resolve the out of court settlement.<\/p>\n
“We are asking for a new date to come back to court that we have already resolved the matter. My Lord,that is my humble prayer” he told the court.<\/p>\n
Speaking with reporters at the High Court headquarters in Minna Thursday, the legal officer of AEDC in Minna, Ubandoma Ibeto Aminu Esq. disclosed that the AEDC is committed to resolve the matter with the members of the Kutitriko Community.<\/p>\n
He explained that the AEDC acknowledged the plight of the Kutitriko Community as a result of the theft of their transformer which threw the Community in total darkness for over six months.<\/p>\n
He assured that ” we are doing everything possible to fulfill our Promise earlier made to the community. We agreed to provide all the needed materials that will power their Community”<\/p>\n
Also speaking, the spokesperson of the community Engr. Ibrahim Adamu Haruna said the Community have agreed to resolve with the AEDC on the ground that they ” will provide the community with armoured cable that will fix the transformer and power the community”<\/p>\n
He said some of the items which include the cable is already on transit with the Promised that it will arrive anytime from now adding that,” we are waiting to see to the arrival of the items then we will come to court for out of court settlement”<\/p>\n
While adjoining the case for out of court settlement,the Presiding Chief Magistrate Hajiya Ummulkhatum Mohammed adjourned the case to 18 April, for settlement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
