The need for the government of Akwa Ibom to further invest into the educational sector of the state has been advocated, with special intervention to private schools as a means of driving development and the economy.<\/div>\n

The Proprietor of Anua Offot Comprehensive High School who doubles as the Village Head of the community Chief Linus Inyang who made the advocacy during the Inter-House Sports competition of the Anua Offot Comprehensive High School at the weekend in Uyo, commended Gov Umo Eno for his dynamic and pragmatic leadership and development drive in the State since he came on board.<\/div>\n

Pointing out that the running of a private school is not a task, he thanked God for his grace to have been able to surmounted some of the embarrassing challenges the school has been facing despites limited resources at his disposal.<\/div>\n
While thanking the school management, teaching and non teaching staff for their wonderful performance, charged them to double up their efforts as their rewards await them.<\/div>\n

Anua Offot Comprehensive High School is strategically located around the ever rising SUN CITY ESTATE and geographically position near IFA IKOT OKPON\/ANUA HOUSING ESTATES AND THE NEIGHBOURING VILLAGES OF USE OFFOT AND IFA IKOT OKPON, with a good road network for accessibility, and was founded over 40 years ago and under proprietorship of many village heads who had joined their ancestors.<\/div>\n

However, Chief Linus Inyang lamented that he met a moribund school with a collapsed school management and structures, with the attenment effect of withdrawal of students by parents and guardians due to lost of confidence in the school management but, today by God’s grace Chief Inyang says, “I have been able to turn the school around for good with great innovations, new management drawn from within the school system, accumulated salary arrears cleared, increment of salaries affected as at when due, arrangement also put in place for conducive learning for students by maintaining a 24 hours security arrangement in and around the premises, an increase in student population, lasting confidence and energy between school PTA Management Established.”<\/div>\n

Speaking, the Grand Youth president of the community, Obong Uduak Edim who made huge donation for the profession of ICT Center in the community school, while expressing delight over the resuscitation of the school by the current management and staff which has been in dilapidated stage for years.<\/div>\n

Speaking shortly at the school, Obong Edim particularly commended the proprietor of the school, Chief Linus Inyang who doubles as the village head of Anua Offot for his progressive leadership style and developmental strides in the community, and for the effort he put in to bring the school up and working after years of mismanagement.<\/div>\n

Edim who noted that community building is a task meant for the community people, expressed his happiness to see the school waxing stronger and breaking new grounds with influx of students.<\/div>\n
He expressed pleasure on the quality of training and scholarship given out to the students by the teachers and encouraged them keep the spirit high as education remain the backbone of today’s development.<\/div>\n

In an interview, the PTA Chairman of the school, Hon Bassey Uneh maintained that they are satisfied with the academic standard of the school and encouraged other parents to deploy their children from other schools the Anua Comprehensive High School and enjoy excellent learning.<\/div>\n
The President of the School Alumni, Mr Akaniyene Elijah, thanking God for progress of the school, reiterated their commitment to adding value to the school with provision of a standard Library Facility with hope that the glory of the school with be greater than before.<\/div>\n

On his part, the Principal of the School, Mr Paulinus Edet Effiong thanking God for hosting the 15th edition of the Anua Offot Comprehensive High School Inter-House Sports after 16 years of neglect. This he said was made possible by the benefactor of Chief Linus Inyang and support of his management since 2023 that he came on board and today the standard of the school which had fallen has been improved and promised to do more to promote the school to admirable heights.<\/div>\n

At the end of the Inter-House Sports competition which featured track events, other games, traditional dance, fashion parade and other displays saw the Red house came first with 255 points , while Pink house came second with 248 points, Blue House took the third position with 232 points.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
