Residents of Shakwata Community in Bosso Local government area of Niger State, have said that they have been relieved of harassment, intimidation and threat to their lives with the overwhelming judgement against the family Yakubu Shaba.<\/p>\n
The Spokesman of the community Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna Ladan stated this while Fielding Questions from Journalists shortly after delivery Judgement over a land dispute.<\/p>\n
According to Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan. the family of Yakubu Shaba have been tormenting our family over the piece of land ” we inherited from our late parents. For the past twenty years, they took our family to several courts over our own inherited lands. As God is With us we have been getting judgement against them yet they refused to comply with the court judgement”<\/p>\n
He explained that the piece of land in dispute was rented to Yakubu Shaba’s family by our late father in the presence of some Community leaders in the community stating that they are now claiming ownership of it after the demise of our parents.<\/p>\n
” They are the people that have been dragging us to courts over our inherited lands yet we have getting judgement against them.<\/p>\n
” We don’t know what they want from us. This is the fourth court they took us to in the last twenty years.<\/p>\n
“But God in his usual Mercy on us we got judgement. We want to appreciate God for this judgement again .<\/p>\n
” We also thank the Presiding Judge for seeing the truth in the whole case to arrive at given landmark judgement against these families” he stated.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Journalists shortly after the judgement as delivered by Justice Mikailu Abdullahi,of High Court number two, the defence counsel Barrister Hanafi Ismail described the judgement as ” well research and elusive”<\/p>\n
He commended the judge for seeing the truth and arrived at given my clients the landmark judgement ” with this eloquent,elusive and well research landmark judgement, I think we have come to an end of this land dispute for the past twenty years”<\/p>\n
He said the Judge also award a cost of N 1.50 milion to be paid to his client within the next thirty days from the date of the judgement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
