{"id":3385,"date":"2025-04-14T07:15:48","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T07:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=3385"},"modified":"2025-04-14T07:17:06","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T07:17:06","slug":"southern-ijaw-council-chairman-urges-community-on-peaceful-co-existence-arrest-five-youths-bans-night-operations-on-waterways","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2025\/04\/14\/southern-ijaw-council-chairman-urges-community-on-peaceful-co-existence-arrest-five-youths-bans-night-operations-on-waterways\/","title":{"rendered":"Southern Ijaw Council Chairman Urges Community On Peaceful Co- Existence  &#8230;&#8230; Arrests Five Youths, Bans Night Operations On Waterways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By David Owei, Baylesa<\/p>\n<p>Youths in Ogboinbiri Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area have been charged to refrain from activities that are inimical to the development of society, but channel their energies towards meaningful ventures.<br \/>\nExecutive Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Council, Honourable Target Isaiah Segibo dropped the hint while addressing a cross section of youths yesterday at Ogboinbiri.<br \/>\nHonourable Segibo hinted that that no meaningful development will thrive in any society that is engulfed in crisis,and called on warring parties in Ogboinbiri to tow the path of peace to attract development and peaceful co-existence amongst residents.<br \/>\nThe Council Chairman frowned at the crisis in Ogboinbiri that has devastated the Community in recent years,and called on the youths,whom he asserts as the most vulnerable to put in their best in growing society and its economy.<br \/>\nHonourable Segibo argued that the socio-economic development of Ogboinbiri has been slowed down as a result of avoidable schism and intra-communal conflicts amongst the people.<br \/>\nHe warned that Government will not fold her hands and watch lawlessness take over viable public and private structures, stating that Government will deal decisively with people found to have taken the laws into their hands to serve as a deterrent to others.<br \/>\nResponding on behalf of his colleagues,Chief security officer of Ogboinbiri,Mr. Inimotimi Amos commended Honourable Segibo on his proactive role and actions aimed at curbing the rift and crisis that has devastated Ogboinbiri.<br \/>\nMr Inimotimi Amos assured the Council Chairman of the community&#8217;s preparedness to respect constituted authorities and live in harmonious relationship amongst themselves and with neighbouring Communities.<br \/>\nAlready,the police has arrested five suspects in connection with the Ogboinbiri crisis.<br \/>\nThose arrested are: Azazi Isaac, Fidelis Eseduo,Edubamodei Victor Edugo, Christian Emoladei and Cameroun Kemeseigha.<br \/>\nMeanwhile,the Southern Ijaw Local Government Council has announced the immediate ban of boats plying its waterways between the hours of 6pm and 6:30pm and 7am daily.<br \/>\nA statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairman,Mr. Ayebaitari Job yesterday\u00a0 called on those concerned, particularly boat operators,commuters and members of the Maritime Workers Union to take note of the development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; By David Owei, Baylesa Youths in Ogboinbiri Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area have been charged to refrain from activities that are inimical to the development of society, but channel their energies towards meaningful ventures.
