It was celebration galore on Sunday as indigenes of Uturu in Isuikwata local government of Abia state under the platform of Uturu Development Association (UDA) residing in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, turned out in great number to elect a new Executive Council to run the affairs of the union for the next three years.<\/p>\n
Recall that the election of a new Executive Council for Uturu Development Association Abuja Branch, was necessitated by the expiration of Barrister Augustine Ndubuisi\u00a0 led Exco whose tenure ended on Sunday July 7,2024.<\/p>\n
The election which was keenly contested was\u00a0 described as most credible,free and fair, was conducted by a three man Electoral committee chaired by Sir Amobi Nwosu.<\/p>\n
Other members of the committee include Mr Wamba Kenneth and Okey Ogah.<\/p>\n
The Winners of the election are:<\/p>\n

Having announced winners of the election,the\u00a0 chairman of the Electoral committee invited the Legal Adviser of the Union, Barrister V.C.Okorocha to swear-in the winners to enable the new Exco assume office immediately.<\/p>\n
In carrying out the exercise, Barrister Okorocha affirmed the conduct of the election as\u00a0 most credible , free and fair.<\/p>\n
He congratulated the winners and admonished them to be magnanimous in victory while appealing to the losers to accept the outcome of the election as the will of God and join hands with the new Exco to build the union to prosperity.<\/p>\n
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman, Comrade Jude Okejiri while thanking the members for coming out in great number to perform their civic responsibility and found him and members of the new Executive Council worthy to serve the union for the next three years said,”Roll the drums. Sound the trumpet for it is the dawn of a new era in UDA Abuja branch.<\/p>\n
“I, Comr. Jude Okejiri, on behalf of my team of newly elected executives\u00a0 hereby accept with a sense of responsibility, the mandate you have given to us to pilot the affairs of the association for the next three years. It is a great honour and we will never disappoint you all.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “May I assure you that we came prepared. We are willing and ready to hit the ground running. Soon, we shall roll out our programs for the tenure. Kindly give us your support when we call on you. For the journey we are starting today is a journey to reposition UDA Abuja branch and Uturu in extension, for greatness.”<\/span><\/p>\n Continuing he said,”I will not end this speech without commending the outgoing executives ably led by Barr. Ndubuisi Augustine. We say thank you for your sacrifices to Uturu. To the electoral committee ably led by Sir. Amobi Nwosu, I say, well done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n ,”Finally umunna m, let us come together as one for the love of Uturu our land and in the spirit of Erim. There\u2019s no winner or loser in this election. Uturu won. We all won. Let all hands be on deck for a greater Uturu.
