Panic grips\u00a0 Oke Ola of community in\u00a0 Osogbo as a violent clash between rival cult groups claimed the life of a man simply identified as Kazeem.<\/p>\n
Eye-witness account revealed that the incident which occurred around 7:00 p.m on Sunday, during a masquerade festival, when members of the EIYE confraternity allegedly led by a man identified simply as Tajudeen from Oke Baale accompanied a masquerade procession into area.<\/p>\n
According to a source\u00a0 who claimed anonymity, the group took advantage of the festive crowd to launch a surprise attack on their rival cult members.<\/p>\n
He added that the assailants fled the scene upon sighting officers from the Anti-Cultism Squad who swiftly arrived at the scene to restore order.<\/p>\n
Confirming the incident on Monday, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, revealed that a manhunt has been launched to apprehend those responsible.<\/p>\n
He said, “Yes, it happened, the police said in a statement. “We have launched a manhunt for those involved.
