The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has vehemently condemned the brutal killing of innocent travellers on Friday, June 20, 2025, who were travelling in an 18-seater bus from Basawa community in Zaria, Kaduna State to Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State when they were attacked in Mangu Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja, Chairman of the group,Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua said,”I extend our deepest condolences to the government and people of Kaduna State, particularly to the bereaved families affected by this heinous attack. <\/p>\n
“The NSF views this incident as a barbaric and cowardly act with no place in a civilized society, demanding swift and decisive justice.”<\/p>\n
Continuing he said,”We emphasize that such mindless violence against innocent citizens is unacceptable and undermines the fundamental right to freedom of movement and residence in any part of the country, as enshrined in Section 41 of the Nigerian Constitution. These senseless killings threaten the fabric of our national unity.<\/p>\n
“We call on the Nigeria Police Force to enhance its strategic information gathering capabilities to prevent and effectively respond to such crimes, ensuring perpetrators are brought to justice.<\/p>\n
“We appeal to the Federal Government to equip security agencies with modern communication gadgets to track and apprehend criminals planning attacks.
\n“We urge communities to remain calm and law-abiding, avoiding reprisal attacks that could escalate the situation.
\nWe also appeal to the Plateau State Government to intensify efforts towards promoting mutual coexistence among various ethnic and religious groups in the state to avoid future occurrence. <\/p>\n
“The NSF stands in solidarity with the victims’ families and the entire nation in condemning this atrocity. We pledge to work with relevant authorities to ensure justice is served and such incidents are prevented in the future.
