\nThe presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi has explained why he didn\u2019t attend the burial of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Obi\u2019s absence during the burial generated controversy, with Remo Omokri asking him to forget Northern votes in 2027.<\/p>\n
However, he has explained that he could not get a flight to Katsina.<\/p>\n
The former Anambra State governor was in Katsina on Wednesday, alongside former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and Nasir El-Rufai, immediate past governor of Kaduna State.<\/p>\n
They trio were in Daura to commiserate with the family of the late former President.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Arise TV, Obi said: “It was difficult to come yesterday (Tuesday) because there was no flight.<\/p>\n
“Even if there was a flight, you couldn’t land in Katsina Airport. It was all closed, because there were a lot of dignitaries.<\/p>\n
“Mourning continues until tomorrow. So, whoever comes today and tomorrow, is still part of the mourning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
