Ahead of the September 23rd resumption date of the National Assembly lawmakers from their their annual recess, the suspended Senator\u00a0 Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from Kogi Central has served out the six months suspension slammed on her on the 6th of March 2025.<\/p>\n
Recalled that kogi-born lawmaker was suspended from that all the activities of the Red Chamber over alleged violation of senate rules.<\/p>\n
Akpoti-Uduaghan had relentlessly contested the suspension, claiming it was\u00a0 a direct consequence of her petition against the Senate President Godswill Akpabio over allegation of sexual harassment.<\/p>\n
The suspension barred the Kogi lawmaker from legislative activities, entrance to her office, National Assembly complex, and the use of official resources, but she has continued to contest it, asserting it is politically motivated act.<\/p>\n
It would be recalled that in July this year,Akpoti-Uduaghan stormed the National Assembly complex in an attempt to enforce a judgement by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja on the leadership of the Senate but was denied access by the National Assembly security at the last gate to National Assembly complex.<\/p>\n
She and her lawyers ad claimed that they were acting on the order of court judgment in her favour but was forcefully denied access to the complex.<\/p>\n
