{"id":7228,"date":"2025-09-17T13:42:05","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T13:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=7228"},"modified":"2025-09-17T13:44:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T13:44:00","slug":"pandemonium-as-nistma-officials-fought-with-aggrieved-youths-leaving-one-feared-dead-others-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2025\/09\/17\/pandemonium-as-nistma-officials-fought-with-aggrieved-youths-leaving-one-feared-dead-others-injured\/","title":{"rendered":"Pandemonium, as NISTMA officials fought with aggrieved youths, leaving one feared dead, others injured\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">By Uthman-Baba Naseer,Minna<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">A pandemonium occurred as violent clash involving Niger State Traffic Management Agency, NISTMA, officials and some aggrieved youths has occurred at Kasuwan Gwari market in Minna,on\u00a0 Tuesday,17th,September,2025,resulted in one fatality and one injury, while two suspects have been arrested in connection to the clash.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The clash began when NISTMA officials arrested a motorcyclist suspected of transporting vandalized iron,which led to a scuffle.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It was learnt that Police officers intervened, but a group of youths mobilized, attacked both NISTMA and police personnel which resulted in the death of one person hit by a stray bullets.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It was further gathered that angered by the killing of one of them,the miscreants destroyed a police vehicle, blocked the road, and set tires on fire.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Some of the eye witnesses at the scene disclosed that when the police dispatched to calm the situation arrived, it turned more violent, especially with the sporadic shooting into the air to disperse the angry crowd which resulted in the death of one person.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The people had called on the state governor, Mohammed Umar Bago to remove the officials of NISTMA from the market and launch an investigation into the issue..<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0The Public Relations Officer,Niger state Command,SP Wasiu Abiodun, hinted that the Police received a distress call from Kasuwan-Gwari that NISTMA personnel intercepted a motorcyclist with some suspected vandalised iron.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">SP Abiodun explained that in the course of interrogation, there was a little rancour between them, adding that the Operation Flush Police patrol team of \u2018A\u2019 Division who were on routine patrol intervened to resolve the issue.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The P P R O further revealed that a group of scavengers\/miscreants launched an attacked both on the policemen and NISTMA personnel, damaging police vehicles, barricaded the road, and were burning tyres.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He also added that over Ten suspects were arrested from the scene and are under investigation<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Uthman-Baba Naseer,Minna A pandemonium occurred as violent clash involving Niger State Traffic Management Agency, NISTMA, officials and some aggrieved youths has occurred at Kasuwan Gwari market in Minna,on\u00a0 Tuesday,17th,September,2025,resulted in one fatality and one injury, while two suspects have been arrested in connection to the clash.
