Of these, 818,492 candidates (60.24%) obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics, while 84.26% achieved five credits and above regardless of English and Mathematics.<br \/>\nProf. Wushishi praised the improved pass rate and a marked reduction in malpractice cases\u20143,878 candidates were involved in cheating this year, down from 10,094 in 2024\u2014crediting intensified monitoring by NECO\u2019s Governing Board and senior officials.<br \/>\n\u201cWe maintained appropriate standards and excellence from planning to release,\u201d he said. \u201cOur zero-tolerance for malpractice remains firm.\u201d<br \/>\nNECO identified 38 schools in 13 states for alleged mass cheating and will summon them for further discussions before imposing sanctions.<br \/>\nAdditionally, nine supervisors\u2014three from Rivers, three from the FCT, one each from Niger, Kano, and Ogun\u2014have been blacklisted for compromising examination integrity.<br \/>\nThe Registrar disclosed that communal clashes in Adamawa State disrupted exams in eight schools, leading to the suspension of tests in 13 subjects.<br \/>\nDiscussions with the Adamawa State Government are underway to reschedule the affected exams.<br \/>\nProf. Wushishi hinted that the 2025 SSCE results could be the last under his leadership as his first four-year tenure ends in July 2026.<br \/>\nHe commended NECO staff for \u201cprofessionalism, discipline, and relentless pursuit of excellence,\u201d adding that their efforts have ensured NECO\u2019s credibility among students, institutions, and the public.<br \/>\nWith these results, NECO has reinforced its commitment to maintaining high standards while broadening access to quality education and fair assessment nationwide.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Uthman-Baba Naseer,Minna To calm the fears of\u00a0 2025 NECO candidates, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results for school-based candidates\u2014just 54 days after the last paper\u2014reporting a strong performance rate and announcing disciplinary actions to protect exam integrity.
