Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, has urged Nigerians to believe in Nigeria going forward.<\/p>\n
Professor Sulaiman made the remarks in a felicitation statement, signed by his media aide, Mohammad Abdulkadri for the 65th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
While congratulating the leadership of the nation at all levels and indeed all Nigerians for the historically momentous occasion, he harped on the need for greater participation of citizenry to build on the gains of nationhood from 1960 to date.<\/p>\n
The erstwhile Minister of National Planning, who noted that the country might not be where it ought to be developmentally but certainly the indivisibility, sovereignty, unity in diversity, demographic assets and unbroken chains in democratic consolidation are sources of strength in the trajectory of nationhood.<\/p>\n
The NILDS boss explained further that the country has made remarkable achievements in the spheres of governance, best practices in bi-camera legislature and judicial sector to deepen justice system and the Rule of Law.<\/p>\n
Other areas of progress according to him are in socio-economic growth, aggressive Infrastructures developments, educational advancements and robust diplomatic ties with the comity of nations.<\/p>\n
He, however, said Nigerians should align with the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s, Renewed Hope Agenda and key into bold government’s policy and programmes that are emplaced towards overcoming challenges bedeviling the country including the decisive steps to end poverty and hunger in the land as well as insecurity in parts of the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
