{"id":7773,"date":"2025-10-08T23:15:38","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T23:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=7773"},"modified":"2025-10-08T23:15:38","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T23:15:38","slug":"igbo-youth-leaders-demand-nnamdi-kanus-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2025\/10\/08\/igbo-youth-leaders-demand-nnamdi-kanus-release\/","title":{"rendered":"Igbo Youth leaders demand  Nnamdi Kanu&#8217;s release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By George Mgbeleke <\/p>\n<p>Deeply disturbed by the prolonged detention of the the leader Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Department of State Services(DSS),Igbo youth leaders have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tamper justice with mercy and release him from further incaseration.<\/p>\n<p> In a statement by youth Coalition of South East and signed by Comrade Goodluck Ibem said<br \/>\n &#8220;our commitment is poised  secure the immediate release of Mazi  Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who is currently detained by the Department of State Services (DSS). <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;His ongoing detention without adequate access to necessary medical attention poses a significant threat to his well-being and is a matter of grave concern for our collective conscience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Recent developments, including the compassionate pleas from lawmakers representing Nnamdi Kanu&#8217;s constituency and Governor Alex Otti&#8217;s vow to facilitate his release, underscore the growing consensus on the urgency of this matter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Continuing the Statement noted,&#8221;The potential for a protest march led by concerned citizens from different geopolitical zones further exemplifies the need for unity in our demand for justice and liberty.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;As the representative body of the Igbo youth, COSEYL is actively mobilizing efforts to ensure that Nnamdi Kanu is released from detention. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are engaging with stakeholders, including human rights organizations, legal advocates, and sympathetic political figures, to amplify our voices and emphasize the importance of dialogue and negotiation in resolving this issue.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;COSEYL is organizing a series of peaceful demonstrations across the South East to draw national and international attention to Nnamdi Kanu&#8217;s plight. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These protests will be conducted in a manner that reflects our commitment to peace and justice, while also honoring the rights of all citizens to express their opinions freely.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Moreover, we are calling on the Federal Government to consider a fair and just approach towards resolving the grievances of the Igbo nation, including the rightful demands for the release of Nnamdi Kanu. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe that engaging in constructive dialogue is vital for fostering peace and harmony in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We urge all Igbo youth and our allies across the country to stand in solidarity as we work tirelessly toward securing the release of Nnamdi Kanu. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Together, we can create a force for positive change that will lead to the respect of human rights and the promotion of justice for all.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By George Mgbeleke Deeply disturbed by the prolonged detention of the the leader Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Department of State Services(DSS),Igbo youth leaders have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tamper justice with mercy and release him from further incaseration.
