Ogoriba, foremost Pan-Niger Delta activist, has joined the Ijaw Nation and the Niger Delta at large in commemorating the 10th anniversary of the passing of the late Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0019-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7829\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0019-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0019-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0019-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0019-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0019-80x80.jpg 80w, https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/IMG-20251011-WA0019.jpg 1160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><br \/>\nIn a statement released in Yenagoa, Elder Ogoriba extolled the late Alamieyeseigha as \u201ca banner of the Ijaw Nation \u2014 a man whose courage, conviction, and deep sense of service defined an era and gave voice to a people long denied their rightful place in the Nigerian federation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He recalled that Alamieyeseigha\u2019s leadership, both as Governor of Bayelsa State and as a rallying point for the Ijaw struggle, was rooted in his unwavering belief in justice, equity, and self-determination for his people.<\/p>\n<p>According to Elder Ogoriba, \u201cChief Alamieyeseigha\u2019s name evokes not just memories of leadership, but of sacrifice \u2014 of a man who bore the weight of his people\u2019s aspirations with dignity and resolve. His legacy remains a guiding light for those of us who continue the journey for fairness, inclusion, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elder Ogoriba, an aspirant for the Ijaw National Congress Presidency, urged all Ijaw sons and daughters across all divides to honor the late leader\u2019s memory by fostering unity, strengthening the INC, and pursuing the collective good of the Ijaw Nation, above personal interest.<br \/>\nIt could be recalled that Ogoriba who is foundation member and President of the Movement for the Survival of the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality of the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) was severally arrested and detained for advocating for the interest of the Ijaw people.<br \/>\nHis resourcefulness, proactive leadership,transparency, sincerity and all inclusiveness are some of the traits  delegates and the Ijaw people say  have gained Ogoriba higher favour in the upcoming national election of the Ijaw National Congress (INC).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By David Owei, Yenagoa.
