The Minna Chief Magistrate Court Number One Sitting in the Minna Judiciary Complex , has ordered for the remand of four teenagers in correctional Custody for extortion.<\/p>\n
They are Julius Isah, Ibrahim Snipper, Digo other name unknown and Mau Coins (now at large),<\/p>\n
The teenagers were arraigned by men of the GRA Divisional Police Command in Minna, the Niger State Capital on three count charges,which included criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass and extortion.<\/p>\n
According to the Police Prosecutor,Inspector Aliyu Yakub Kuta,the three count charges were punishable under section 60 (2),350 and 29 of the Niger State penal code law 2025.<\/p>\n
The Police First Information Report (FIR), marked CR\/45\/2025 made available in court revealed that on the 31st August 2025 at about 10.30hrs, \u201cRabiu Shuaibu of Kutiriko area Minna. Came to GRA Police station and reported that on the same date,at about 03:30hrs in the morning, Julius Isah Ibrahim Snipper,Digo and Mai Coins now at large.<\/p>\n
\u201c All of Fadikpe area of Minna, criminally trespassed into his house,while sleeping and stole one Infinix HD7 phone valued N100,000 and cash sum of N5,000. <\/p>\n
\u201c When he woke up from his sleep heard the sound of footsteps inside his room,where he came face to face,while trying to escape through the window. In the process he demanded for his phone to be handed over to him,but instead you flashed a torch light directly in his eyes,threatened to kill him if he came close to you with a knife in your hand and absconded to an unknown destination leaving behind a red cap. Based on information you were arrested by the men of the NSCDC of Fadikpe out post who later handed you over to GRA Divisional Police Command\u201d<\/p>\n
When the charges were read to them even with two others at large by the presiding Chief Magistrate Mohammed Ibrahim Murtala, he denied the report and pleaded not guilty to the charge as preferred against him.<\/p>\n
The Police Prosecutor Inspector Aliyu Yakub Kuta,objected to his bail application on the ground that the offence of trespass under section 350 of Niger State penal code law attracts 21 years jail term upon conviction. <\/p>\n
The presiding Chief Magistrate then ordered for their remand in Correctional Custody and adjourned the case to the 11th, November,2025 for commencement of hearing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
