{"id":8374,"date":"2025-11-02T20:12:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T20:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=8374"},"modified":"2025-11-02T20:12:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T20:12:06","slug":"group-appeals-to-tinubu-for-regular-supply-of-crude-oil-to-dangote-refinery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2025\/11\/02\/group-appeals-to-tinubu-for-regular-supply-of-crude-oil-to-dangote-refinery\/","title":{"rendered":"Group appeals to Tinubu for regular supply of crude oil to Dangote  refinery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Magnus Chukwudi,<br \/>\nPort Harcourt<\/p>\n<p>A pressure group called &#8216;Partners for National Economic Progress PANEP,&#8217; has made a passionate appeal to the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed  Tinubu, for continued supply of crude oil to Dangote refinery.<\/p>\n<p>The rally tagged, &#8216;Natonal Unity Against Sabotage: Reclaiming Our Petroleum Sector for the people&#8217;, witnessed the protesters carrying various placards, in support of Dangote refinery.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing journalists, the conveners- Comrade Danesi Momoh, Comrade Igwe Ude- umanta, Comrade Emmanuel Udumosu, among several others, at the weekend, vouched, the effort was in contnuation of the series of determined and conscious national campaign, for economic salvation, particularly in the oil sector.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;It is sequel to the Abuja rally of October<br \/>\n2, 2025; Kaduna Rally of October 6, 2025 and Asaba Rally of October 9. 2025. <\/p>\n<p>As an oil producing country, the matter of supply of crude to local refineries (in this case, the Dangote Refinery) is not only a mater of Law as stated in the Petroleum Industry Act, but a matter of patriotic duty, national consciousness and economic prosperity drive.<\/p>\n<p> It is very sad, unfortunate and embarrassing that Dangote refinery imports crude from other countries due to his inability to source it at home&#8221;, the group expressed.<\/p>\n<p>They argued that both the spirit and letters of the petroleum industry Act, particularly under the section referenced in this text is to mandate oil companies, particularly, upstream operators to supply crude oil to domestic refineries at reasonable prices in other to protect the refineries and encourage investments thereof. It is for this reason that the PIA encourages regulatory agencies. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dangote refinery has become a glorious Pathfinder, and indeed, the downstream sector. We all shall embrace and support it, even as Mr President continues to provide the necessary leadership.<\/p>\n<p>We are very grateful to various stakeholders in the Nigerian economic project for the massive support these campaigns have received.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> The group said, &#8220;from sister civil society organizations and pressure groups, who had joined in those patriotic campaigns; to the media who had provided broad<br \/>\ncoverage; to the security agencies, who have offered progressive partnership, to the patriotic energy experts who have amplified our voices and promoted our arguments; and to unionists and activists who rose to the crucial occasion when unions were hijacked for national economic sabotage, the support has been massive and it is appreciated. <\/p>\n<p>They  thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for providing the atmosphere for businesses to thrive in Nigeria, especially for refusing to allow a greedy oil cartel to stifle Dangote refinery and ultimately kill every other attempts at local refining in Nigeria. <\/p>\n<p>It will be recalled that the nation&#8217;s petroleum industry workers union and Dangote refinery had been in disagreement, for a while now. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Magnus Chukwudi, Port Harcourt A pressure group called &#8216;Partners for National Economic Progress PANEP,&#8217; has made a passionate appeal to the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for continued supply of crude oil to Dangote refinery.
