Happy with the developmental strides of an illustrious son of Uturu and member, representing,\u00a0 Isuikwuato, Umunneochi, federal constituency of Abia state,\u00a0 Hon Amaobi Ogah, the\u00a0\u00a0founder and Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu (GUU), Prof. Gregory Ibe, has congratulated the lawmaker for facilitating the upgrade of the Achara Community Health Centre, Uturu to an annex of the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia, Abia State.<\/p>\n

In a statement he personally signed on Wednesday, Prof. Ibe noted that the upgrade of the center to an annex of Federal Medical center aligns with his vision of providing critical tertiary health interventions closer to the people of Uturu.<\/p>\n

He noted that this initiative is a key aspect of his long-term goal, which he began pursuing with the establishment of the Gregory University Specialist Hospital many years ago.<\/p>\n

The statement reads:\u201cI am thrilled by the recent announcement of the federal government\u2019s approval to upgrade and convert our Achara Uturu Community Health Centre to an annex of the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia. This milestone aligns with my long-held vision of bringing critical tertiary health interventions closer to our people\u2014a dream I embarked on with the establishment of Gregory University Specialist Hospital many years ago.<\/p>\n

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my brother, Hon. Amobi Ogah, for his instrumental role in facilitating this laudable project. As Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on HIV\/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control, his support has been invaluable. It is on record that I made several efforts to secure the partnership of past administrations in Abia State to convert the facility to a secondary health institution. I am thus delighted that my younger brother has been able to achieve this milestone.”<\/p>\n

Continuing the erudite Professor declared,”This development heralds a new era for Uturu, Isuikwuato, Umunneochi, and the entire Abia North Senatorial Zone.
