Thaddeus Chike

Speaking in an interview with Correspondent, the chief celebrant said,”

I am excited today doesn’t come twice. If it is twice it is going to be bigger. It is a jubilee year for us, 25years and the next one we expect by God’s grace is 50years and we are very grateful to God. I am really excited and my wife is also quite excited because every marriage has it’s ups and downs, what is important is the ability to be able to withstand in the days of troubles, in the days of joy to stand firm and . Of course that is what has kept us together love and endurance we have been able to stay together. We are very grateful to God.

On young couples that have embraced marriage, he said,”Well, they said marriage is an institution that you enter and you never graduate from but I think it takes a lot of endurance. It takes a lot of understanding, it takes a lot of tolerance and it takes a lot love. Like some of the testimonies that you heard today. By virtue of my job I have been kind of normadic and move from place to place but yet, we are not always together but the love is always there. I don’t know what puts in the mouth of our sponsor today. She said that even while we were not together, our love keeps on growing stronger even more than those who are staying together. Of course not because of anything but for the fact that we allow love.to grow in our union ..we are grateful. to God. We take every opportunity to thank God for what he has done for us because we are nothing before him. Looking from where we started, you will see that we started from a humble path but God has brought us thus far. We are civil servants but God also has blessed us, we are happy for the children God has blessed us with and we are happy for how long he has kept us for his grace and mercies, the joy, happiness and togetherness.

On broken families, he said,” it takes love, it’s takes a lot of love, it takes a lot of understanding and sometimes like the Bible says it is expedient to marry within our tribe. That doesn’t mean that we should marry our sisters rather we are advise to marry within your environment.

I think this is what I would ask people to do, yes we want to promote inter-tribal marriage but most times too, it’s just like a flamboyant thing it doesn’t end up working. It is not that I am discouraging people, those who find love in it should go ahead and marry but I think people should marry within their tribes so that they will be able to endure and have peace within and among themselves.

Also the wife of Chief Honours Obasi, Lolo Chinwe Obasi had this to say on what she saw in her husband that sustained their Marriage, she said “he is not just my husband, he is my brother, he is my best friend and husband. We started as brothers and sisters and ended up in marriage. So, that brotherly and sisterly love has been there. He is a man of his words, when he says Yes, his Yes is yes. I like a man that loves God. From the day I saw him, I saw him as somebody that loves God so much and things that concern God. He likes participating in things that concerns God. So, he is my husband and I do tell people that in my next world, if there is anything like that, I will also want to be his wife again. He is a man of his word, I love him. Sometimes I will call him and tell him, ‘do you know that I love you, and he will say, ‘yes he does. So, he is a gentleman to the core, not just gentle outside but gentlemen in and outside.

By Ignatius Okorocha There was jubilation in Christ the King Catholic Church Kurudu on Sunday as Parishioners joined Saint Anthony,Imo/Abia Community and Karu denary to celebrate their chairman, Chief and Lolo, Honourus Obasi ( Chimereze I of Akagbogu in Imo state) to celebrate their 25th years wedding anniversary.
