The announcement was made on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, during an emergency meeting of the PSC.<\/p>\n<p>AIG Ali, who hails from Nasarawa State in the North Central region, was previously the AIG in charge of Zone One, Kano. His appointment marks a significant transition as he takes over from Ayuba, who also comes from the same region. Ali\u2019s new role is seen as an important step in the ongoing restructuring of the Nigeria Police Force.<\/p>\n<p>DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), Chairman of the PSC, presided over the meeting and used the occasion to emphasize the Commission&#8217;s commitment to professionalism and integrity within the Police Force. He urged the newly appointed DIG to adopt a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and to align with the Commission\u2019s vision of building a Police Force that is not only professional but also accountable to the Nigerian people.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are building a new Police Force that will be a pride to the nation \u2014 free from corruption, filled with vigor, and committed to serving the public,&#8221; Argungu stated. He further assured that the PSC would continue to partner with the police to strengthen their ability to protect lives and property, as well as to combat crime.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Argungu congratulated AIG Ali and encouraged him to give his best in service to the nation.
