{"id":9656,"date":"2025-12-21T18:36:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-21T18:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/?p=9656"},"modified":"2025-12-21T18:36:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-21T18:36:09","slug":"south-east-issues-require-dialogue-kanus-brother-says-nnamdi-never-snobs-ex-gov-okorocha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyechoes.ng\/index.php\/2025\/12\/21\/south-east-issues-require-dialogue-kanus-brother-says-nnamdi-never-snobs-ex-gov-okorocha\/","title":{"rendered":"South-East issues require dialogue-kanu&#8217;s brother &#8230;Says Nnamdi never snobs Ex-Gov.Okorocha"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Our Correspondent <\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Kanu, younger brother to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has refuted claims that his brother snubbed former Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha over the latter\u2019s move to resolve through dialogue the South-East crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Kanu&#8217;s younger brother insisted that such reports are false and misleading even as the pair had disagreement which he said was normal.<\/p>\n<p>He made this clarification on Sunday in a statement made available to newsmen from ollowing reports circulating on social media and other platforms alleging that Nnamdi Kanu ignored Okorocha\u2019s alleged efforts to seek an amicable resolution to the lingering South-East crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the reports claimed that had Kanu listened to Okorocha\u2019s intervention, the crisis in the South-East could have been resolved peacefully, a development they argued would have prevented Kanu\u2019s eventual incarceration.<\/p>\n<p>However, Emmanuel Kanu dismissed the claims, stressing that while there may have been differences of opinion between his brother and the former governor, such disagreements never amounted to a rejection of dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Nnamdi Kanu has always been open to genuine conversations aimed at addressing the complex political and security challenges facing the South-East region.<\/p>\n<p>Maduka College Advert<br \/>\n\u201cMazi Nnamdi Kanu has never snubbed former governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha,\u201d Emmanuel stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegardless of any perceived differences,\u201d he said, \u201cBoth figures recognized the value of dialogue in addressing the South-East region\u2019s complex issues.<\/p>\n<p>He further maintained that attempts to portray the IPOB leader as unwilling to engage in dialogue were inaccurate and far from the truth, adding that peaceful engagement remains critical to finding lasting solutions to the challenges confronting the South-East<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Our Correspondent Emmanuel Kanu, younger brother to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has refuted claims that his brother snubbed former Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha over the latter\u2019s move to resolve through dialogue the South-East crisis.
