It was jubilation galore at St Joseph Catholic Church, Awka Etiti, Idemili South Local Government area, on Sunday as 45 people were reportedly empowered with #1million each by a foundation, Lucky Adimike Foundation, to better the living condition of the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n
The beneficiaries with their friends relations and well wishes poured encomium on the founder of the foundation, Mr. Lucky Chinedu Adimike, and prayed God to protect and guide him as he continues to better their welfare.<\/p>\n
It was gathered that the event, themed, “Arise, Shine for Your Light Has Come,” that took place during the Faithspiration Initiative Night of Praise, Worship and Empowerment, was powered by the Faithspiration Initiative and solely sponsored by Lucky Chinedu Adimike.<\/p>\n
Among the Catholic Priests who ministered and prayed for Faithspiration members and participants included, Rev. Fr. Barrister Johnbosco Igwe, Rev. Fr. Joshua Obiekezie, among others.<\/p>\n
Popular comedians and gospel artistes that included, Chioma Ezefete, Mirable Chisom, Blessed Modesta, Chief Imo, Albino Brothers, Igwe White, and Timothy Ofoegbu, took centre stage, thrilling the gathering.<\/p>\n
A resource person, Rev Fr.Barr. Johnbosco Igwe, in his lecture titled, \u201cSix Allegations Against Christianity in Igboland,\u201d clarified that Christianity did not seek to abolish Igbo traditions but rather refined them by preserving the good and discarding harmful practices.<\/p>\n
He urged youths to desist from criticising the presence of Christianity in Igboland and warned against returning to long-abandoned idol worship.<\/p>\n
The cleric outlined the allegations against Christianity to include, claims that it destroyed Igbo identity and culture, demonised Igbo traditions, weakened moral values, economically disempowered Igboland, hindered civilisation, and was complicit in colonialism.<\/p>\n
In their separate speeches, Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, representing Idemili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, supported the benefactor, Adimike, by giving five extra people #1million each, while Anambra State House of Assembly member for Idemili South, Hon. Ebuka Igwe, Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Mrs Amaka Obi, and President-General of Awka-Etiti, Mr Emeka Ezeoke, commended Lucky Adimike for empowering indigenes of Awka-Etiti and Idemili South at large.<\/p>\n
They also praised the founder of the Faithspiration Initiative, Very Rev. Fr. Dr George Adimike, describing the initiative as a platform for nurturing youths in faith and spreading the gospel.<\/p>\n
Presenting the funds to the beneficiaries, the benefactor, Adimike expressed gratitude to the Awka-Etiti President-General, Mr Emeka Ezeoke, Rev. Fr. Paul Ifebighi, government officials, and Faithspiration members.<\/p>\n
He paid glowing tribute to Very Rev. Fr. Dr George Adimike for his dedication, describing him as a hardworking priest.<\/p>\n
Adimike advised beneficiaries to remain prayerful and invest the funds in productive ventures rather than using them to settle debts. <\/p>\n
He encouraged them to save from their profits, practise financial discipline, and adhere strictly to the guidelines of the empowerment committee.<\/p>\n
Speaking, Father Adimike thanked the priests, religious, seminarians, government officials, Faithspiration members, and the Port Harcourt branch of the initiative for their support and active participation.<\/p>\n
