Niger councils Polls:stakeholders laud INEC for peaceful conduct,impressive election

The peaceful conduct of Saturday’s Local council election in Lapai Local government was attributed to the level of sensitization carried out by critical stakeholders in Lapai.
The quick arrival of sensitive voting materials was also responsible for the peaceful and orderly manner in which the voters conducted themselves during the process.
Fielding questions from journalists in his Badidi unit in Lapai, the Immediate past Commissioner for local government Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs in Niger State Hon. Mua’azu Hamidu Jantabo applauded the voters in Lapai for exhibiting high level of maturity during the election.
He stated that sensitive voting materials were delivered on schedule which according to him immensely contributed to the smooth and peaceful conduct of the electoral process
hon.hamidu Jantabo expressed satisfaction with overall peaceful conduct of the election adding that the calm atmosphere during voting was as a result of aggressive sensitization and enlightenment campaigns conducted by the Niger State Electoral Commission (NSCIEC) and other critical stakeholders up to polls
Hon.Jantabo, while commending the efforts of the state Electoral Commission for putting the necessary machinery in place in the conduct of the election,he noted that the outcome of the result would be of the best interest of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He also praised the Niger State Governor, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, for creating an environment conducive to fair competition among all political parties participating in the local government chairmanship elections across the state’s 25 local government areas.
Party agents from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) confirmed that voting materials arrived at 8:00 a.m., which facilitated timely accreditation and voting.
The Political parties Agents expressed optimism regarding the election’s conduct and also commended the NSIEC for its efficient distribution of vital materials.
To encourage full participation, Governor Bago declared Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31, as public holidays in preparation for the election.
In Lapai voters turnout and enthusiasm remained high as citizens actively engaged in the democratic process.
Also speaking,the former Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board (NSPWB), Alhaji Umar MAKUN Lapai, described the electoral process in the area as the best in recent times.
He said the mass turnout recorded during the election was the result of the house to house enlightenment and awareness embarked upon ahead of the election.
He stated that Lapai Local government and its surrounding communities are home based on the ruling APC in Niger State adding that “as far as we in Lapai are concerned, we don’t have any opposition that can intimidate us here. So the Issue of an opposition in Lapai is not even an issue to us”
Umar Makun commended the peaceful and mannerful conduct of the voters throughout the conduct of the election, assuring that the APC will come victorious at the poll.

Fubara Felicitates Muslim Faithful on Eid-el Kabi

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has extended warm greetings and felicitations to all Muslim faithful in Rivers State and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-el Kabir, the Festival of Sacrifice.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi,Fubara described the feast as a season that calls on everyone, irrespective of faith, to have a deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, compassion, generosity, and unity.
Governor Fubara also expressed gratitude to the Muslim community for its contributions to the peace, economic growth, and social harmony of Rivers State.
According to him, the celebration of Eid Kabir should be a moment for all Muslims and non-Muslims alike, to reaffirm their commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and collective progress.
He enjoined them to ensure that diversity in faith does not become a source of division, but of strength to enhance peaceful coexistence.
“As you gather with family, friends, and neighbours to share meals and offer prayers, I urge you to extend hands of kindness to the less privileged in our midst.
Let the spirit of sacrifice that defines this festival inspire us to give more, forgive more, and love more.
“On this sacred occasion, I pray that Almighty Allah accepts your sacrifices, forgives your shortcomings, and grants you and your families peace, good health, and abundant blessings. May the lessons of Eid-el Kabir guide us all as we work to make Rivers State and Nigeria a place of justice, prosperity, and unity for every citizen,” he said.

ADC presidential primaries: Amaechi Defeats Atiku, Hayatu-Deen in Bayelsa …Amaechi 44,404, Atiku 6,570, Hayatu-Deen 939

The former Governor of Rivers State and immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has been declared winner of the African Democratic Congress, ADC , Presidential Primaries election in Bayelsa State.
Amaechi defeated former Vice President Abubakar Atiku and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen by a wide margin having polled the a total of votes in all the eight local government areas of the state in a direct primaries conducted on Monday in the 105 wards in the state.
Announcing the results at the ADC Collation Centre in Yenagoa, the State capital on Tuesday, the Chairman of the ADC Presidential Primaries Committee in Bayelsa State who also doubles as the Returning Officer, Commodore Promise Dappa,retd, declared that Amaechi polled a total of 44,404 votes while Atiku got 6,570 votes and Hayatu-Deen polled 939 votes.
He said out of a total of 56,356 registered voters, 53,298 were accredited, with valid votes of 51,913 and 1,785 rejected votes.
Commodore Dappa, retd, who was flanked by other members of the committee and party leaders in the state declared: “By the powers conferred on me as the Chairman of the presidential primary election in Bayelsa State and also the Returning Officer of the Presidential Primary election in the state, I hereby do declare Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as the winner of the ADC Presidential Primary election in Bayelsa State having polled the highest number of votes in the state.”

Rivers APC Candidate, Chinda, will ensure inclusive governance, says Rivers Professionals

Stakeholders under the auspices of the Rivers Professionals (RIVPRO) have hailed the emergence of Ogundu Kingsley Chinda as the governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
They called on other stakeholders and residents to massively support him saying if elected Chinda possessed the capacity and competence to ensure inclusive governance in the state.
RIVPRO’s Director of Publicity, Nimi Solomon in a statement insisted that Chinda’s emergence was a positive step towards competent leadership in Ruvers.
Solomon said RIVPRO was pleased with Chinda because he embodied the qualities Rivers people had long desired in governance such as professional excellence, administrative depth, and a broad‑minded, detribalized approach to leadership.
He said: “Chinda’s reputation as an astute and detribalized professional has earned him respect across ethnic, professional, and political lines.
“Rivers State needs a leader, whose vision transcends divisions and whose commitment to service is anchored on merit, fairness, and development.
“Hon. O. K. Chinda is an astute, detribalized professional with the leadership experience required to move Rivers State forward. His emergence signals a refreshing shift toward competence, integrity, and inclusive governance”.
Solomon expressed confidence that, if elected, Chinda would bring accountability, innovation, and people‑centered governance to the state.
He reaffirmed RIVPRO’s support for credible leadership and urged Rivers people to embrace the opportunity for progress.
