Commercial activities at popular Punch roads and adjoining streets in Amarata, a suburb of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, temporarily came to a halt on Friday night and early Saturdays morning as cult boys on a revenge mission over the killing of a young man took to the street in apparent revenge mission.

The slained young man simply identified as Frank aka Akiman, was trailed and brutally shot dead on Friday night at Punch road by gun wielding youths suspected to be from a rival cult group.

The killers numbering over six were said to have trailed the young man who was a popular figure in the community, shot him in the arm and before pursuing him to corner when he tried to escape and shot him in cold blood in the head with a revolver pistol.

They reportedly shot into the air to scare residents who ran for their lives, with some abandoning their wares, stores and even their own siblings.

The gunshots caused panic and pandemonium as all shops were closed with people including (this reporter) ran for cover.

Though the police later came to evacuate the body in that night, there was another pandemonium in the early morning of Saturday as the slained youth group came out in a apparent revenge mood with guns, cutlasses and other dangerous items shouting war songs.

They came in groups and attacked another youth ‘whose condition is yet uncertain’ with machete, sending residents into another panic and palpable fear. Shops were lucked and many who came out early ran for their lives as the youths dared anyone to challenge them.

As usual, the police came with their vans when the boys had gone to hiding to restore temporary peace.

A reliable source said the on-going cult war may not be unconnected to the recent clashes between rival cults in Igbogene, a gateway town in Yenagoa local government area which has claimed five lives.

He said the Igbogene cult clash was for the control of the new multi-million new Bayelsa Transport Terminal built by the Government at Igbogene.

A resident who spoke on condition of anonymity, called on government to intervene as this one death among many other.

When contacted the Spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, was yet to respond to the phone calls and messages sent to him as at the time of filling this report.

Ahead of November,8 governorship election in Anambra State,a group on the aegis of ‘Mahogany Spartan’ has warned that it would not hesitate to lynch election riggers on the spot and damn the consequences.

President of the group Hon. Obiora Gablyn Oguonu who gave this warning while fielding questions from newsmen in Onitsha in Anambra State on Wednesday said the action has became necessary to stop declaring one who does not win the election a winner.

“Whoever that is to be used to rig the election will get it hot. Let the winner be people’s choice, we are.tired of this misguided justices. 60 per cent of those who claim to be politicians are mere political contractors.

“We will not take it any longer, we have to purge the state of election riggers. Whoever wants to rig election come the November 8 governorship election should do so in his house and not at the arena of the election because such a person or persons should get it hot.

“No matter his status in the society we don’t care. We will lynch him on the spot and damn the consequences. We are tired of this illegality, Election result victory should be given to the person who gets majority of the votes in a hitch free election. Somebody the majority wants and voted for.

The president who said the group is not biased in carrying out its function, reiterated that he is fighting for the oppressed Nigerians who the bulk of the sufferings gets to.

On security situation in the state he commended Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts so far in curtailing it but lamented the composition and modus operandi of the local vigilante operatives who according to him have turned security into commercial venture.

“I saw some masked people extorting money from motorists However, if they are well paid they will not be extorting money from motorists and other road users. Also they are not suppose to dress like fake native doctors the state government said it is hunting for.

“Security is a serious business that has to do with protection of lives and property of the people and as such vigilante group has to compose of familiar people in the area for easy detection and not to compose of one from Kogi, Calabar, Igbo, among others.

“Close Circuit cameras, CCTV kind of will be of immense assistance in security management and as such should be installed to curtail most of the crimes,” he stated.

He lamented that the major sponsors of violent crimes are some of the wealthy which makes wagging war against crimes and criminality almost impossible.

Gov of Anambra State, prof.Chukwuma Soludu

Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon.Ify Obinabo has revealed how an apprentice 18 year old randy boy impregnated 10 girls, including his master’s daughter and sales’girl within a short period of five months.
The Commissioner who made this revelation in a live video shared on her official social media handle, expressed grave concern and bewilderment over the situation, which she said had overwhelmed her office and capacity to handle.
She said the young boy was initially sent to learn a trade under a master adding however that within just three months of his apprenticeship, he allegedly impregnated both his boss’ daughter and the boss’ sales’ girl which led to his expulsion from the place of apprenticeship.
It was gathered that the situation took a new dimension when after being sacked by the master for impregnating his daughter and sale’s girl, he returned to his village where he impregnated the rest eight just two months of returning home, bringing the total number of girls he had impregnated within five months to ten.
According to the Commissioner, “This matter is beyond my capacity. That’s why I’m seeking public advice,” Commissioner Obinabo stated in the video.
“The boy was just 18 when he began his apprenticeship. After three months, he impregnated his oga’s daughter and their sales girl. He was sent home. But just two months after, he impregnated eight other girls in the village,” she further disclosed.
According to her, the boy’s mother brought the disturbing case to the Ministry of Women Affairs and expressed her deep concern over her son’s escalating behavior and quoted her as saying, “Anytime I see a girl walking toward our house now, my heart skips. Please help us, we need help.”
Narrating further, the Commissioner disclosed that when she confronted the boy to explain the ‘secret’ behind his manipulative prowess and multiple conquests, the teenager simply responded that he tells the girls he loves them and promises to marry them once he becomes wealthy.
“What kind of charm or psychological power is this?” the Commissioner asked rhetorically. “Is this a spiritual matter? Is it peer pressure? Or is there something wrong with the boy that we are yet to understand medically or psychologically?”
The Commissioner declined  from disclosing the identity of the boy or the specific community where the incident occurred obviously to protect the privacy of those involved but Obinabo maintained  however that the magnitude of the issue called for collective action and public input, as it had far exceeded the boundaries of what her office could address alone as a Ministry for Women and childre
“This is not just an individual problem anymore, This is a societal issue. Ten girls, and this boy is just 18? Something is definitely wrong somewhere. We need help, both spiritual and psychological if necessary.”, the Commissioner pleaded.
